| There has been much speculation and rumor swirling around the recent closure of the Alice in Wonderland attraction at Disneyland. Some have blamed OSHA and other have claimed that OSHA had nothing to do with the closure of this beloved attraction. According to Disney representative Suzi Brown the following happened: During an unrelated visit to the park, a Cal OSHA representative observed a maintenance cast member on the track of the Alice in Wonderland attraction and made us aware of a potential safety issue. We agreed with the opportunity to enhance safety and voluntarily took down the attraction until modifications can be made. An interim solution — likely scaffolding or another acceptable barrier — will be erected on the exterior “vine” area of the track, which will enhance cast safety. It should be in place within the next few weeks.
There's the truth about Alice. Disney has been a leader in safety and once again they are stepping forward to ensure the safety of guests who visit the Disneyland Resort. Many guests are and will be dismayed to find Alice in Wonderland not operating but in the long run, safety comes first.
